KGSHIA interface with stakeholders, health care providers on benefit package review

Kogi State Health insurance Agency today held a strategic interface meeting with stakeholders and health care providers to review its benefit package.

The meeting which was held at Defayo Hotel Lokoja examined the current realities on price list of drugs, current cost of services rendered by health care providers with the services of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency.

Giving his opening remark, the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency (KGSHIA), Dr Adekunle Aledare stated that the last review of the benefit package was carried out about two years ago noting that the new review was necessary to ensure the enrollees of the Agency continue to receive the best health care services in the state.

Dr. Aledare charged the participants to contribute meaningfully to the meeting noting that the outcome of the review should be geared towards the benefit of both the Agency, health care providers and the enrollees of the Agency.

Chairman of the Board of the Agency, Pharm. Suberu Arikochonu urged the participants to be diligent in their contributions towards the benefit package review. He added that their contributions would go a long in strengthening the work of the Agency.

The Kogi State Coordinator of the National Health insurance Authority, Mallam Sani Suleiman stated that all the partners of the Agency are important in strengthening the work of the Agency. He urged the participants to put in their best in reviewing the benefit package of the Agency.

Dr Mariam Abdulsalam and Pharm. Kenneth Ameh reviewed the previous benefit package of the Agency. The participants were later divided into groups to carryout the review of the benefit package of the Agency.
